SOURCES / ASSUMPTIONS / CORRECTIONS
Our editorial method and tool limits
Laptop Overheating publishes educational guides and browser-based tools. Our purpose is to help you record observations, compare plausible explanations and choose a proportionate next step. A calculated result is an aid to reasoning; it is not an inspection, certification, laboratory result or professional diagnosis.
What the tools calculate
Each tool states its input units, assumptions and limits beside the result. Deterministic calculations use the values you enter. Qualitative guidance is labelled as guidance rather than a measured probability. Missing evidence stays unknown. We do not infer a failed component, material safety or an exact service life from a single reading.
Evidence and source selection
We prioritize public manufacturer instructions, technical documentation, government guidance and specialist references where they apply. References appear next to relevant explanations or in the guide's source section. A general reference does not establish the specification for every vehicle, laptop or wood species. Verify the exact model, material and application before relying on a limit.
Authorship and experience
The site is identified as the publisher. We do not claim a named technician, scientist or credentialed reviewer unless that person's contribution can be documented. Illustrations help explain a process; they are not evidence of first-hand testing. Species comparisons and thermal or electrical models should not be read as product endorsements.
Updates and corrections
A design or software update is different from an expert review of an article. We avoid adding fresh review dates to unchanged advice. To report a factual error, use the contact details and include the page URL, the statement in question and a public source or model-specific instruction that explains the correction.
Commercial links and independence
Some retained product guides contain affiliate links. Where disclosed, the publisher may earn a commission on a qualifying purchase. A product link is optional and should follow an identified need, compatibility check and safety assessment. The tools themselves do not place orders, contact providers or submit your readings to a third party.
Your saved inputs
Tool inputs are saved in browser LocalStorage when available so you can resume after refreshing. Use the tool's clear-session control to remove them. Private-browsing settings or blocked storage can prevent persistence; the tool remains usable for the current session. This static build does not load third-party analytics scripts.
